Missoula Community School Programs

The school day for all MCS students is 9:00 – 3:00.  The Missoula Community School also offers extended care before (7:45 - 9:00) and after (3:00 - 5:30) the school day.

  • Early Childhood
This creative, community-oriented program serves pre-school children (aged 3 - 4 years old).  Children’s different learning styles and talents are valued and supported by nurturing teachers. Developmentally appropriate curriculum weaves learning into daily routines.  Children grow in self confidence through joyful play and care.  Children must be 3 by September 30th of the school year. Early Childhood students may be enrolled on full-week (Mon. – Fri.) or part-week schedules (Mon/Wed/Fri or Tues/Thurs).

  • Pre-K–Kindergarten
This multi-age program serves Pre-K and Kindergarten children (who turn 5 years of age in late fall and those with winter birthdays).  Our engaging, individualized curriculum emphasizes problem-solving; understanding of number, literacy, and science skills; creative arts; physical education; and connections to the Missoula community.  Support for social and emotional development provides a nurturing foundation for the class.  Children have time for projects and play.  Pre-K is offered either 3 or 5 days per week.  Kindergarten is 5 days per week only.
