The Missoula Community School, a non-profit preschool, is currently hiring for full and part time positions for the 2019-2020 school year.  Positions include:

Full Time Teachers and Staff
Lead Aftercare Teacher and Floater
The Lead Aftercare Teacher is responsible for upholding the mission and core philosophy of MCS while cultivating a caring, nurturing, developmentally appropriate after care program. The Lead Aftercare Teacher’s duties include planning small activities and circles daily. She/He must relate well to children and adults, and possess qualities of maturity, patience, and good judgement. This position also includes scheduled hours as a Floater and/or Office Help. Floater duties include stepping into various classrooms to relieve staff and cover positions as needed. Office Help duties include answering the phone, laminating, filing, and other general duties. (Office experience not necessary for this role.) This position is scheduled 12pm-5:45pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 31.25 hours per week. Term of the contract is August 21, 2019-June 4, 2020, with flexibility to start at an earlier date. Pay is $13.50/hour. Benefits include PTO, participation in group HRA with a school contribution, paid planning time, paid training time, and access to continuing education funds.

Part Time Staff
Teacher Assistant
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for upholding the mission and core philosophy of MCS while cultivating a caring, nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom. The Teacher Assistant will hold a strong desire to be involved in creating a vital and unique education in a progressive, community-orientated environment that weaves elements of mindfulness and compassion into the daily routine and curriculum. The Teacher Assistant will provide a safe, clean learning environment while displaying professionalism. She/He provides support to the teachers and children in the classroom. This position includes one half hour scheduled in the Before Care program. Remaining scheduled hours are in the classroom. This position is scheduled 8:15am-1:15pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 25 hours per week. Term of the contract is August 21, 2019-June 4, 2020, with flexibility to start at an earlier date. Pay is $12/hour. Benefits include PTO, participation in group HRA with a school contribution, paid training time, and access to continuing education funds.

Aftercare Assistant Teacher
The Aftercare Teacher Assistant is responsible for upholding the mission and core philosophy of MCS while cultivating a caring, nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom. The Teacher Assistant will hold a strong desire to be involved in creating a vital and unique education in a progressive, community-orientated environment that weaves elements of mindfulness and compassion into the daily routine and curriculum. The Teacher Assistant will provide a safe, clean learning environment while displaying professionalism. She/He provides support to the teachers and children in the aftercare program. This position is scheduled 2:45pm-5:45pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 17.5 hours per week. Term of the contract is August 21, 2019-June 4, 2020, with flexibility to start at an earlier date. Pay is $12/hour. Benefits include participation in group HRA with a school contribution, paid training time, and access to continuing education funds.

All applicants must:

  • complete approved CPR and 1st Aid courses prior to working with MCS children
  • complete required licensing training within 90 days of hire
  • provide documentation of immunizations as required by the state licensing agency
  • complete a background check
  • have experience working with young children
  • register with the Early Childhood Project and complete required annual training

For all positions, previous experience is preferred. Although, we are happy to train the right person who shows enthusiasm, flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Interviews will be scheduled for June 25 – July 2. Positions will remain open until filled.
