Current (2017-2018) School Year: We currently have positions open for three-year-old children for the 2017-2018 school year. If your child is not three quite yet, there is still hope! Children need to turn three-years-old by October 31st. Please fill out an application form (found on our website) and return it to the school office. Then, stop by one of our OPEN DOOR FRIDAYS, starting September 29th and running through the month of October. (Coffee provided!) Drop in one of these Fridays between 9:30am and 11:30am. We also currently have positions open in our older PreK classroom for children who turn five by the end of December. Our tuition rates and fees can be found on our website.

Enrollment Information for the 2018-2019 School Year:

MCS will begin accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year November 1st, 2017. New prospective families are encouraged to visit the school and begin the enrollment process in the fall and winter prior to starting school (November 2017 – January 2018 to enroll starting in September 2018). We will update with Open House dates by the end of October.

In-house re-enrollment will begin mid winter.  During that time, currently enrolled families have priority in selecting schedules and securing spots for the coming year, including spots for siblings.  In-house re-enrollment continues through late January/early February. Currently enrolled families can find the paperwork in their parent pocket during the re-enrollment period.  Any re-enrollment requests or requests for schedule changes after that time will be filed and processed along with requests for new families. Therefore, it is very important for current families wishing to re-enroll their child(ren) to return paperwork promptly.

MCS staff will then process new family applications in the order in which they were received.  Calls to new families will begin mid February.  We will work to be as timely as possible; thanks for understanding that this process takes time and we will contact you as soon as possible.  Everyone who has filed an application will be called and informed of your status.

Visiting the school:
If you would like to find out more about Missoula Community School, we recommend you visit during an upcoming Open House date (beginning November 2017 and continuing into winter and spring for 2018-2019 enrollment). During your visit, you will meet with the director to discuss our programs and have any questions answered, and then enter the classrooms to get a feel for our philosophy and practices. We recommend making a first visit without your child, to more easily be able to view the school through adult eyes and ask all the questions you’d like. If you then wish to schedule a second visit with your child we are more than happy to do so. If you are unable to attend any of the Open House dates, we provide tours during the day upon request.

Who will my child’s teacher be? Can I make a request?
It is not possible to answer the first question until late summer, since our Small Groups are not formed until that time. We want parents to know that ALL of our teachers are here because we believe they are outstanding at what they do. A teacher unfamiliar to you or new to the school may just be a great fit for your child! We discourage teacher requests for these reasons; thanks for understanding!
