Embodied Land Acknowledgement

Missoula Community School is located on the ancestral homelands of the Séliš, Qĺispé, and Ktunaxa-Ksanka people. In our work with children, we aim to foster meaningful relationships with the land and with all living beings, and to inspire future generations of allies and activists. Our classroom experiences are scaffolded by Indigenous ecological wisdom, story, history, and culture, and we are committed to continually learning about how to be better allies to Indigenous populations. In doing so, we aim to embody land acknowledgement as an evolutionary, living process.
